Asagba Warns Against Cultism In Communities, Directs Diokpa To Take Charge

His Royal Majesty, the Asagba of Asaba, Prof. Epiphany Azinge has emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence in Ogbeogo village, advising warring factions to live in harmony.

The Asagba in a bid to ensure total peace in the village, directed the Diokpa of Ogbeogo village, Umuonaje quarters, to return within a month to lead the village’s affairs directly.

The monarch gave the charge during a meeting with Ogbeogo village, Umuonaje factional leaders at his palace.

Prof. Azinge emphasized the importance of unity in Asaba, urging Ogbueshi Amaechi Ogeah to cease actions causing disunity.

While pleading for unity among all quarters of Asaba during his reign he directed Sir Azuka Diali, the Diokpa of Ogbeogo village to return and take over leadership in a month and report to the Palace, while Ogbueshi Chukwuma Anthony Ndah, the Onu Diokpa continuing in the interim.

Asagba Azinge counseled the people to live in peace and warned against crisis, emphasizing its costly nature, and advised Ogbueshi Chukwuma Anthony Ndah, to remain patient and meek in leadership.

The Asagba’s guidance aims to maintain peace and stability in Asaba Kingdom while praying for love, peace and unity to coexist amongst them in Ogbeogo village.

He condemned cult-related issues, noting that cultism is proscribed in Asaba Kingdom even as he announced that the procedures to renew the Isu Ofor will be completed by the end of June 2025.
