Ika Community Inaugurates New Security Outfit

In order to curb the increasing rate of insecurity and kidnapping, a new security outfit called the Nigerian Forest Service (NFSS) has been launched by the Oyoko- Abavo Community in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Abavo Divisional Headquarters, Supol Akawe Ogorchukwu Abraham (SP), who officially inaugurated the body charged them to work in line with laid down rules of engagement.

He commended the newly commissioned security outfit for the bold step taken to serve their community voluntarily.

He urged sons and daughters of the community at home and in diaspora to encourage the security outfit with necessary tools and funds in order for them to carry out their task effectively.

The inaugural ceremony was to re-enforced the need to curb the rising cases of insecurity bedeviling communities across the nation and the need to secure the forests as recently directed by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu.

A community leader and a patriot of Oyoko Community, SP Austin Igheghe (Rtd) while addressing the newly recruited NFSS Volunteers charged them to perform their duties with all sense of responsibilities in line with established code of conduct guiding the Nigerian Forest Security Service (NFSS).
